My wife and I recently watched a two-part video series from Mark Cahill called “The Fisherman’s Club.” It is a message on witnessing and sharing your faith based on Matthew 4:19.
And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. – Matthew 4:19 (KJV)
In it, Mark gives instruction, encouragement and exhortation to witness the truth to a lost world. The fields are “white already to harvest.” In other words there are so many people lost in their sins and Christians need to be faithful to have conversations with these people and share the gospel with them. Each one of us is to do their part. “One soweth, and another reapeth.” God will give the increase.
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours. – John 4:34-38 (KJV)
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. – Matthew 9:36-38 (KJV)
