Hannah, who was barren, prayed to the LORD and asked: “if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid” (excerpted from 1 Samuel 1:11 KJV). In verse 19 of the same chapter we are told: “the LORD remembered her”.
Samson asked God to remember him.
And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. – Judges 16:28 (KJV)
God did remember Samson as Samson’s strength returned to him and he brought down the house of the lords of the Philistines to kill all that were there.
And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life. – Judges 16:30 (KJV)

Many times has God’s people asked him to remember. And God has remembered, even when people have not asked him to.

And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in the which Lot dwelt. – Genesis 19:29 (KJV)
