My wife and I recently watched a two-part video series from Mark Cahill called “The Fisherman’s Club.” It is a message on witnessing and sharing your faith based on Matthew 4:19. And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. – Matthew 4:19 (KJV) In it, Mark gives instruction, encouragement and exhortation to witness the truth to a lost world. The fields are “white already to harvest.” In other words there are so many people lost in their sins and Christians need to be faithful to have conversations with these people and share the gospel with them. Each one of us is to do their part. “One soweth, and another reapeth.” God will give the increase.
Hannah, who was barren, prayed to the LORD and asked: “if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid” (excerpted from 1 Samuel 1:11 KJV). In verse 19 of the same chapter we are told: “the LORD remembered her”.
Man has an incredible desire to learn of the beginnings of the universe. He keeps searching for answers, willing to do almost anything to get them. The latest is an infrared telescope, known as the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), that is scheduled to be launched in October, 2018. Initially estimated to cost $1.8 billion dollars, the current estimate is over $8 billion dollars. This new telescope will likely reveal more about our universe, but it will not give the definitive answer on our origins. Accurate information can only come from an eye witness: God.
I heard a top 10 list on the radio this morning. It was a top 10 list of what Americans are watching on TV. I got me to thinking about the spiritual state of the United States. Every person loves what they spend time with. Their heart, left unchecked, will follow after what they desire. This screenshot shows the most popular TV shows as compiled by TV Guide.
Have you ever wondered why Solomon answered God as he did? I think that I now know the root of it.
I was saved through reading a Revised Standard Version (RSV) Bible that was given to me at confirmation when I was 14 years old. The words of Jesus spoke truth to me. I have come to know that the RSV is not a reliable Bible version. So what, or who, was it that spoke truth to me?
Something to think about: Do you want to live … in a chamber (Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. Proverbs 7:27) – or – in a mansion (In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you . John 14:2)?
The most important daily discipline for a Christian is that they read their Bible. It is also the most important thing to do for someone seeking the truth. If you think about it, the Bible contains the very words of God for man.
Have you received a gospel tract from us? If so, we would like to hear from you!
In Numbers, Chapter 34, the LORD tells Moses the borders of the land that Israel will possess.
