Jehovah’s Witnesses – What about Acts 8:37?

missingThere is a verse (among several) that is missing from the New World Translation that is vital for people in the Jehovah’s Witnesses to consider.  That verse is Acts 8:37.

The reason this verse is so important is that it speaks to Jesus being God, something that the Jehovah’s Witnesses deny. From the Jehovah’s Witnesses website:

However, we take Jesus at his word when he said: “The Father is greater than I am.” (John 14:28) So we do not worship Jesus, as we do not believe that he is Almighty God.

Growing Up on Bad Spiritual Food

I was reading Pilgrim’s Progress today and a thought came to me. I was saved through reading a Revised Standard Version (RSV) Bible that was given to me at confirmation when I was 14 years old. The words of Jesus spoke truth to me. I have come to know that the RSV is not a reliable Bible version. So what, or who, was it that spoke truth to me?

For We Are Not as Many

I read an article, on John McTernan’s blog, the other day about the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.  The article was not about 2 Corinthians 2:17, but rather about Revelation 13:1. As we discussed the article as a family, we wondered how the new versions rendered 2 Corinthians 2:17.
